The Rojava Revolution is under existential threat. The President of the new Syrian jihadist regime Jolani wants the Kurds and peoples of North and East Syria to surrender everything that has been built.
This is an attempt to normalise massacres against religious and ethnicities minorites and systematic violence against women. All the achievements of the revolution, all the achievements of the women’s movement, all the achievements of thousands of martyrs and the labor of democratic society that have lead us to this point must be protected. The Rojava Revolution is all of our revolution, the revolution of Democratic Confederalism is the revolution of our century. For everyone globally facing the violence of the Third World War, this movement is the beacon of hope. Today, everyone who claims to struggle for freedom, we are called upon to fulfill our responsibility to humanity. Just as the popular resistance of NO PASARAN! has come together in the past, no once again we must gather people’s power to say “No!” to the attacks against the democratic gains of people in the Middle East.
We, as people from all organizations, ages, countries, call upon everyone – women, youth, internationalists, journalists, teachers, medics, revolutionaries, international and humanitarian associations, anyone who wishes to create free life in all regions of the world, to come with us on a convoy to the borders of Rojava. These borders put in place by authoritarian regimes are being broken down from all sides as Kurdish people rush in to be in solidarity with all peoples of North and East Syria. We must now join them and go to the border of Kobane, a historic symbol of resistance against ISIS that was liberated by courageous women and men in 2014, which is now being encircled and once again under threat of being overtaken by fascist Islamist gangs.
We call everybody to join our caravans towards Kurdistan. We must all take our own initiative to gather people in their own regions to join or support this effort. We need support from every community in every town and every city in Europe. This means organizing logistics, food, medical support, cars and trucks. Also engaging with the communities in your regions to spread the word about the situation and to take action. Ensure media coverage, plan demos and press conferences in places we pass through to join us at the meeting places of the convoys. We must make our will known to everyone. This initiative is belonging to all people – we must use all of our creative and democratic power.
